I look forward to our sessions every month to learn the skills of DBT and how to incorporate them into my day to day. The biggest learning is accepting others and feeling confident in using the skills in situations.
Working with Allison and attending the DBT group has allowed me to use the skills of DBT in my everyday life. using these skills has now become 2nd nature when I came into the group I didn’t realize how beneficial being part of a group would help me feel more confident and reassured that I'm using the skills well.
It's been a supportive place for me
The most important skill DBT has taught me is how to regulate my emotions by the use of cold water on my face. It has helped me tremendously manage my emotions and regulate myself so that I stay in control of my emotions. I love working with Allison because I never feel judged.
Allison is an outgoing, gregarious person who establishes relationships easily. This allows Allison to effectively intervene with a wide variety of Families and ages within the family. It seems the greater the challenges within a family, the greater the effort and impact that Allison has with the family.
